Caret is a unit of weight for gemstones. The K in 24K is a measurement of purity, stated in 24ths. Those coins are only .917 fine, which makes them 22K. This is not unusual for coins that were meant to be circulated. The additional metal they are alloyed with makes them wear less. A troy ounce weighs 31.1034768 grams. Grandpa

Well there are so many things not right with your question. with gold carat is not is not weight but a measure of the purity ie 24 carat is pure gold. The coin in the picture is a gold sovereign and if it has King Edward the VII face it can not be 1811 it must be 1902 to 1910, and in 1811 no gold sovereigns were made. so it is either a fake or a non precious gaming token. The other alternative is that you made a typo and it is 1911 which would be a George V sovereign. The sovereign has a weight of 7.98 grams and a purity of 22carat or 91.6% gold. its current value is about $240 there are 31.2 grams aprox to the troy ounce I hope this gives some more answers
